[CLUE-Tech] Easiest DHCP

Hey,
    I'm pretty new to linux as well, but maybe I can help you. To get an ip
address through dhcp in linux you just type 'dhcpcd' at the command prompt.
I would think most distros come with dhcpcd. I use RH 7.1 and it does. If
yours does not, you can go to www.isc.org and download it. You can make a
script to run dhcpcd at boot up or you can edit the interface's config file.
Here is how mine is.

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
ONBOOT=yes

Hope this helps.
