When my three year old modem (bridge) died, they came out and replaced it.
They could not get my router's MAC to register, so I did it with my wife's NT
box directly plugged to the cable modem. Then, I later plugged it back into
my router.

The tech told me that I would have to re-register the MAC address for the
router since it's different than the one in the NT NIC. However, this was
not the case and the new modem been rock-solid since.

The interesting thing is that the techs cannot answer many of our technical
questions, such as 'Does AT&T store MAC addresses?'. Maybe they should write
a Linux User FAQ that will satisfy our collective curiosities?
