Kind of sparse text there for any real trouble shooting...

Your best bet is try using DHCP (I guessing that this correct).  If your
windoze box is setup to automatically configure networking, then it is
using DHCP.

The clients that I know of are pump (redhat and friends) or just fire up
dhcp-client directly.  Under Debian, simply installing the dhcp client
takes care of most of the work.
