Well, I missed the date on the main page so it said Sep until today.

I think it is.  I suspect that BOF's post about reading firewall logs 
stems from not understanding the underlying details so well.  It's the 
low level details that make IP routable while ethernet is not--and 
understanding that helps you know where to look when you have problems.

I see a fair number of people asking questions with conceptual errors, 
like sending pings to a particular port, or firewalls blocking the 
telnet *protocol*, or the limited number of ports in the world.  So I 
want to show people what goes on underneath so they will have a more 
intuitive understanding of how the tools they use work.

Granted, this will be a balancing act between too much theory and too 
little which is part of the reason I've asked for two meetings to cover 
it.  I hope I can pull it off, though I guess I won't please everyone.
