Hey guys thanks for all the help right after I posted this message I was 
able to get it working by using the ln -s /dev/usb/ttyACM0 /dev/modem 
then used KPPP.  I found the info on a site called 
www.strange-gods.com/ricochet/linux  Thanks again guys I have a new 
found love of Linux, now If I could just get some programs to install. 
This ./configure thing is all new to me.
