Okay, you got me, I'm a youngster. :) I do remember the 9-track, and
actually, I had to write them as late as 1995...and I remember having a
300-1200 baud modem for my C-64. 

...but I suppose this is a relative term. Consider: there are folks entering
the field who may have never used a CLI, whether it was from UNIX, TRS-80,
C-64, TI, VMS, CMS, Apple, etc...also, these folks probably never had to
worry about memory or HD space being an issue.
