If you just need to run Office, CrossOver Office should be good enough
-- unless you really, desperately, need to use Outlook in the scenario
you described. You might try Ximian's Evolution+Connector in place of
Outlook.

If you need to run Windows apps in general, I'd recommend VMware. It's a
little pricey, but runs fine with 512 MB or more of RAM. IIRC, Win4Lin
doesn't support Windows XP/2000 yet, while VMware supports the full
gamut of Windows OSes + Linux, FreeBSD and a few others, which can come
in handy from time to time...
