This tells me that you have not a G400 but in fact a Matrox Millenium
II. The best that i was able to get out of this was 1024x768 at 16
These line are of real importance.

If it has more than 4megs of ram you have to tell it. They did come out
with an 8meg version. Look on the back of the card for a paper tag.
The next option is to try and get your monitor setup as best you can.
