Usually the difference is in the number of packages that are included.
Quite often, publishers will scale the distro down to 1 or maybe 2
discs. The publisher edition will usually not include any source
packages either. It should be enough to get a system up and running.
Sometimes the publishers will list the packages included on the CD.
The full version of Red Hat 9 (downloaded) comes on 3 discs
(binary/install) and 2 more for the sources.
