I'm in with the guy that said 'DNS', but make sure of forward DNS, too, or
better, just try it by IP-only both ways and see if there's a change.

Also, try turning down the firewall on the slow reciever.

Also, check for an actual difference in up vs. down bandwidth at both boxen.
Example: my home uplink has a download speed of 1.5Mbps, but upload is a
pizzling 256Kbps, or 1/6th of download.

I've got two boxes on a lan A and B.

When I use scp to push a file from  A to B, it takes 2 seconds.

When I pull that same file from B to A, it takes 4 minutes.

Any clues as to what might be the cause?
