Speaking of places that sell cable and adapters - I'd also like to add
some info here again about SCSI adapters - I learned a lot this week
about them. One thing I did learn is that there is not an adapter that
exists that can maintain the Ultra320 SCSI connection when going from 68
pin LVD to 80 pin. The connectors do not have chips on them, they are
straight wire and jumpers, but the signal integrity on them is not as
good as the U320 rated cables, and the max transfer rate my drives now
have is 40 m/s. I don't remember who was saying that the adapter
shouldn't affect the transfer rate, but with U320 adapters, it
definitely does. So, make a long story short - make sure you buy the
drives with correct pins because now I have to exchange mine because I
won't sell for 1/8th their max speed.
