[CLUE-Tech] cheap/free certificate authorities

Does anyone have experience with free/cheap certificate authorities
like cacert.org?

I'm looking in to setting up a secure website, and don't really want to
go the self signed cert route.  From the looks of it, I'll still have
to point users to cacert.org to get their root certificate before it
will work, but they are working on getting browsers to include them
(doubtful MS ever will).  

I'm just curious if others have had any experience with CA's, and have
any tips.  Also, does anyone know of javascript, php or something
script that will point users to the cacert root certificate if it
notices they don't have it?
