hello,

well i've got my family switched over to linux, just a few little
things i need to iron out, one of which is getting apt4rpm or apt-get.
i'm having quite a hard time tracking down and satisfying all the
dependancies(the reason for wanting apt-get in the first place) and
yum isn't being much help either. i was wondering if i should be
pointing my /etc/yum.conf somewhere other than the default location.
my /etc/yum.conf file is as follows:

[main]
cachedir=/var/cache/yum
debuglevel=2
logfile=/var/log/yum.log
pkgpolicy=newest
distroverpkg=redhat-release
tolerant=1
exactarch=1
retries=20

[base]
name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - Base
baseurl=http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/$releasever/$basearch/os/

[updates-released]
name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - Released Updates
baseurl=http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/$releasever/$basearch/

#[updates-testing]
#name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - Unreleased Updates
#baseurl=http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/testing/$releasever/$basearch/

#[development]
#name=Fedora Core $releasever - Development Tree
#baseurl=http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/development/$basearch/

i'm getting quite fed up with all these dep issues, hopefully i can
get this sorted out, otherwise maybe i'll just go buy SuSE pro.

regards,
JW
