Unless you have an active reason to use the phoneline system, I would
recommend going with wireless.

Wireless cards may not be supported under Linux as completely as
standard NICs, the phone card system is a dying one.  It was a really
really great idea right up until WIFI/WIMAX started to make phoneline
networking totally pointless.

If you don't like the prospects of setting up a wireless card under
linux, you could use an RJ45-802.11 bridge like the WET11 from
Linksys:
