[clue-tech] Network Topography Schematic drawing software?

Here's my guess: Developers want to develop the "userful" software and
leave basic services to the desktop environment.  The less wheels a
developer has to re-invent, the more effort he gets to spend on the core
competenc(y|ies) of the software.

As to how GNOME and KDE became the chubby environments they are...  I
have a guess on that, too.  We the people, like eye-candy, and we have
too much processor for our collective good, and the people that don't
have too much processor, don't drive the market.  And just in case that
last part's unclear, the market is mostly dollar-driven, with geekly
enthusiasm coming a close second.
