The Fedora Core Xorg RPMs are not the same thing as the original Xorg
sources -- they (the Fedora folks) apply a handful of patches to create
their RPMs.  It may be that one or more of these patches has some effect
on your switching issue.  Or not.  I just wanted to say that, for my
setup, it works.  So its not a problem for all Xorg 6.8.2 users.
