Have you ever updated your BIOS on your mobo?

It may not be the physical memory stick that is corrupt.
It could be any one of the followings:

1. Bad onboard bios with the type of memory stick used.

2. Bios setting misconfigured for the type of memory.

3. A possible bad prong where stick meets with mobo.

4. A possible burned diode, etc,etc.

5. Bad mobo ground.
(I've dealt with numerous badly grounded mobos that act psycho!)

6. Overclocking?

7. Mem stick not pressed firmly down.

8. Wrong memory stick cycle installed on mobo. I.E. DDR Pc266, Pc400, etc.

9. Name brand of motherboard with type of stick used.

There's a few more lookouts but it gets more complex to explain.
You may pull up your model on your motherboard and match it to the stick you
are using on google; just to see if anyone else out there is having your same
type of problem?
