Just a final nitpick on this topic.

Although we commonly think of RHEL or Red Hat Enterprise Linux as a
server release, the term is actually an umbrella for several distinct
products under the Enterprise rubric, namely for Version 4

"Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 4 Including Red Hat Enterprise Linux
AS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES, Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS, and Red
Hat Desktop." (see http://www.redhat.com/security/updates/).

See http://www.centos.org/modules/tinycontent/index.php?id=2 for the
definitive CentOS mission statement, namely

"CentOS-3 is a freely distributable OS built from the source at:
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/enterprise/3/en/os/i386/SRPMS".

The same principle applies for other CentOS/RHEL releases. If you
visit the listed SRPMS site, you will note that more is offered than
what you would consider "server" packages.

Summary: RHEL is more than a "server" distribution. Use of CentOS in a
desktop environment is in no way a "violation" of the RHEL concept.

Enjoy,
