[clue-tech] Permanently setting the hostname ? - RHAT AS 4

Forgive the top post:

/etc/sysconfig/network - the HOSTNAME variable is what you what for hostname persistence.

`service network restart` will activate it.

Seems to cover your situation quite directly - though it doesn't
explain the reason why it works on some systems but not on RHEL AS4.0.
