Generally speaking the changes that they make are only where they have
to do them, not where they can "make improvements."

I know that in the case of the browsers (Firefox and Mozilla, not sure
on the KDE/Gnome browsers) that they add in the CACert certificate. I
disagree with that decision, but whatever.

The list of packages they have added/modified in the ISO files is here:
http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4/os/i386/RELEASE-NOTES-en.html

Once you have a system running, you can modify your yum.conf files and
point them at the various related repositories. They do provide many
files in "centos extras" and "centos plus" and such which definitely
are "improvements" to the original redhat.

These are explained here: http://centos.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=33

But those "improvements" are not in the base distribution ISO files.

It is many many thousands of computers. I'd almost believe tens of
thousands. Lots of places use it for server farms. I bet we'd come
up with a hundred centos boxes here in denver if we did a count.

Definitely agreed.

Definitely agreed. But instead of "worry less" I would say "worry
less and re-read the GPL."
