[clue-tech] missing gnome menu items

I recently reinstalled Debian on my laptop, and magically some of my 
menu items have not returned.  I no longer have gnome sessions or screen 
saver preferences under my preferences menu.  I've done looking online 
for 2 days and found no answers as to why these items are missing, but I 
vaguely remember missing some other menu items in the past.  Anyone have 
this experience?
