Greetings,

With all the gentoo discussion of late, I thought this would be a good
place to ask...

I have gentoo up and running on an Athlon64 - did an emerge gnumeric,
and gnumeric loads fine.

When I try to open an excel/xls file, I get an error about unsupported
format and it seems a missing plugin - but the plugin is there and
readable - even show in the plugins window exactly the same as my
other working gnumeric under centOS..

[davep at HTPC:~/proj/hightec]$ Reading
file:///home/davep/proj/hightec/Hightec.xlsE Unable to open module
file "/usr/lib/gnumeric/1.4.3/plugins/excel/excel".
  E /usr/lib/gnumeric/1.4.3/plugins/excel/excel.so: undefined symbol:
gsf_xml_in_parse

[davep at HTPC:~/proj/hightec]$ ls -l /usr/lib/gnumeric/1.4.3/plugins/excel/
total 356
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Aug 10 03:15 .
drwxr-xr-x 42 root root 4096 Aug 10 03:15 ..
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 793 Aug 10 03:15 excel.la
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 330372 Aug 10 03:15 excel.so
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 15134 Aug 10 03:15 plugin.xml

Anyone seen this before? Any suggestions? should I maybe build a
32-bit gnumeric? I am not too sure how to go about doing that.
