Folks on the Gentoo lists with a lot of years experience maintain that
the Gentoo CDs are not really that great yet. Almost without exception
they recommend the manual method of prepping your system and
downloading a Stage 3 tarball and Portage snapshot. There are any
number of "grief" stories from those who have tried to install from
the CDs.
