AHA! (slapping forehead).  Of course, I didn't realize that I've been 
trying to kluge a VPN out of SOCKS.  The easy an elegant solution is 
just what you have described.

I owe you a beer for that one.  Please remind me at the next CLUE DTC 
meeting. :)
