Hello,
   Two things: hello and help.

I am new to the mailing list but not new to *nix. I did a crash
course in unix by v220 terminal in 1997 for a comp. sci class then built
my own linux box so I could do school work from home. My distro
preferences used to be Red Hat, then they went commercial, now I like
Gentoo because of portage. In 2004 I built a raid file server using
5x250 gigabyte HD's then shared it via FTP/Samba with my friends in my
lan gaming group.

My problem: I am trying to build a dual-boot box but all linux distro's
I've tried (redhat, suse, fedora, gentoo, knoppix, tiny) the
keyboard/mouse lock up. Thought it was a BIOS issue, but gigabyte's bios
update doesn't mention any updates to fix HID problems. I googled for
"no keyboard" but got a bunch of issues with mice and Xorg.

Where it happens: x11, ncurses, and bash console

Specs: Athlon Amd 64
MB: Gigabyte GA-K8N-SLI
Video: PEG ATI X800GT
HID: ps/2 mouse & keyboard or USB key/mouse
HDDs: 1x~500GB SATA 300, 2x~250GB Sata 150, 1x-300 sata 300

Any advice/help would be appreciated. I am guessing there is a H/W
conflict.

-David
