I can understand your frustration, Jed, but a harangue with people who
have only been trained to answer Windows questions (guaranteed to be
at least 99.3% of the queries) is not too productive. The old story of
trying to teach a pig to dance comes to mind. In my case, I always
have a windows dual boot hanging around - booted every three years
whether I need to or not.

Meanwhile, a little more RTFM in the instruction booklet for the
Napster device unearthed this little gem: you can rip CDs to the
device once in the Napster (Windows only) application. So, I'll try
that on the wifey;s PC when I have more time.

Thanks to all who responded. I may try out the Cowon devices if I
decide to throw any money at the problem.
