FTP?  Is there a GUI that uses rsync (native or over ssh)?

For this kind of thing I prefer to do all my work local and then just 
use rsync to make the remote match.  (And local is a work dir from a 
version control system.)

Of course you can do all kinds of fancy things to make the remote its 
own work dir from your version control and then use it to sync 
(automatically, even).  But that maybe takes more support on the remote 
end.  Most places should have ssh and rsync.
