What did you change on the client side (E or others) to pick up the
change that made D4 available? This suggests that something client side
was changed incorrectly and gets picked up on restart.
If the clients weren't changed then putting D back the way it was (and
restarting the clients) should make D1-3 work again, at least. Then you
can focus on the details of the change you made.
