I haven't made it a firewall but I got a system from Logic Supply that is
fanless and uses a compact flash disk. very small black box with a laptop
style power supply. Doesn't make a sound, has a good processors and
is very
impressive really. The first was a proto-type for a system we're building
and very likely to buy a bunch more. It comes with 2 NICs, a couple usb
slots, keyboard mouse and video. No Floppy and no CDROM are a plus I
think
for a firewall. It has enough processor power to run a firewall
easily the
only drawback is the price at $1k for 512Meg or RAM and a 10Gig CF drive.
