Acrophobia is a software that combines the powers of ghostcript, samba, and sendmail on Fedora Core 3 to provide a virtual printer that renders your print job as a PDF and emails it to you.

Recently, ours exhibited a problem with not clearing the job-lines from the queue for completed jobs.

The TDB file that tracks printer usage had become corrupted.

The following commands should fix it, if it happens to you. Replace 'Acrophobia' with the name of your printer.

# rm /var/cache/samba/printing/Acrophobia.tdb
# service smb restart

This problem should be able to affect any Samba printer, so the fix may be more generally useful.

Funny how things take so much less time to fix, than to figure out ~how~ to fix them.
