[clue-tech] SATA vs. "IDE"?

Bummer about the drive. If your M/B has no SATA connectors then it is
easiest to just buy an IDE drive. However there are IDE to SATA
adapters, and SATA to IDE adapters, and they cost $20 to $50 probably.
There are some issues with these but for basic disk functionality they
work OK. You probably won't notice the issues under normal use.

Hope this helps,
Jim

I'm looking online and I see many SATA drives. Is it true that I can't plug a SATA drive into my old "IDE" motherboard (the tape connectors). Do I just look for "IDE" drives? There doesn't seem to be much selection.
