[clue-tech] Installfest 22jan : Help with CUPS, Audio & Skype on Ubuntu

Hi, If anyone is planning on being at the installfest on the 22nd,
that has experience with any of the following any advice
in trouble shooting or configuring the following would be greatly accepted.

I hope to arrive at the installfest by 10am, and will be tinkering until
either the problems are solved or I run out of time.

1. Computer :
dell inspiron 1545
running ubuntu 0.10   2.6.35-24 generic
Just ran the latest updates this morning.

Problem:  after the last CUPS update, it no longer connects/prints to the
home HP Laserjet 1320 printer. I have tried several tips online but no joy
yet.
I will bring in both computer, printer and necessary cables to the
installfest.

2. Computer :
Dell Latitude D630
running kubuntu
Linux renoster 2.6.32-27-generic #49-Ubuntu SMP Thu Dec 2 00:51:09 UTC 2010
x86_64 GNU/Linux
Updated all the packages this morning.

Problem:
2a. Audio configuration : when I play a internet video - the video displays
but no sound.
2b.Skype: I would like to get skype working on this machine. I have an old
logitech webcam,
which i would like to see if I can get to work.
 (windows 7 said it was unsupported but maybe Linux can make it work)
