Hi all, For those of you who are interested, I found a work-around for the RAID 0 problem I was having. It seems that the Red Hat 6.2 "/sbin/raidstart" utility is incompatible with the Linux 2.2.17 kernel's RAID 0 implementation, even though Red Hat 6.2 ships with kernel 2.2.14 . When I compile the raid0 driver into the kernel (as opposed, of course, to loading it as a module) and then pass some boot parameters to the kernel then it works fine. The RAID 0 device driver supports boot-time configuration under 2.2.17 and you can use a RAID 0 or RAID 1 device as a boot device under Linux 2.2.1x I think, in this manner. Since the RAID works fine through the kernel, and with the RAID0 device driver starting the RAID array all by itself, my only conclusion can be that the raidstart utility supplied by Red Hat is in some way faulty.
