I think Grant may mean the Deskjet 700 series, which are PPA printers, in which the page has to be generated in software in the PC before being sent to the printer. PPA printers have no ability to process plain text; they just throw away ASCII data. This is annoying if you print text from a UNIX machine a lot. > Just stay away from the DeskJet 600 series.
