Dave, > I seem to remember that tthere used to be support for xicom parallel > port ethernet adapters - now I see only d-link. I don't believe there has ever been support for Xircom adapters of any type under Linux. The only reason that there may be support for Xircom CardBus ethernet adapters now is that they are using a standard ethernet chip (tulip, I think, IIRC) that is supported. If it were up to Xircom there would not be any support of any type, ever, in the Linux kernel for their products. I have always made a point of not buying anything from Xircom due to their bad attitude. I plan to continue in this manner, in addition to discouraging everyone else from buying Xircom crap as well. NB they may have changed their tune now, but historically they have been very very unfriendly to open source developers and open source software. > Can anyone point to a way to use the xircom unit under a 2.4 kernel > (woody)? I doubt that you'll find it. Good luck though! -- Jim Ockers (ockers@ockers.net) Contact info: please see http://www.ockers.net/ Fight Spam!
