That's probably what I didn't do. What is the root command to remount the
files systems RW? Or is there a GUI way to do it?<br>

It sounds like he's running into the standard Knoppix practice of mounting
existing filesystems readonly, for safety. The solution then, would be to
use the context menu to remount the filesystem read-write. I don't know if
this is what Match was talking about when he mentioned the "crippled" root
account.
