AVOID CompUSA brand products at all cost! CompUSA support is horrible so if you run into issues with your CompUSA device you'll be quite screwed, and on top of that the device is bound to be of low quality since CompUSA is a retail store, they don't have expertise in the manufacturing of computer devices, this is just a ploy of there's to get more money by selling low quality devices at low competitive prices. My recommendation, stay AWAY from CompUSA brand products and buy something like a Linksys adapter or something. Or even better, get a wireless bridge so that all you need is a working NIC (and those have quite good support in linux, haven't had any issues getting a NIC to work in Linux) and you're set (since a wireless bridge is a device that connects to the wireless network and interfaces with it for you, all you have to do is plug a network cord into the wireless bridge and the other end into your computers NIC, your computer will then interface with the wireless bridge just like it's a router or switch, but really the wireless bridge is doing all the wireless leg work for you behind the scenes...and the Belkin one I got worked out of the box so I'd recommend buying a Belkin brand one), highly recommend a wireless bridge when doing wireless with Linux because otherwise you'll have to deal with the hassle of *hopefully* finding a linux driver for your wireless device and then you have to deal with its compilation and some even require the extra hassle of having to be compiled in your kernel!
