I already have the Solaris 10 media kit (includes x86, x64, and SPARC installers) but it's been complaining about the larger hard disk that I threw in the box. If I could somehow root the Solaris install that is already on it, I might very well leave it alone based on these words of wisdom.

I got a Sparc Ultra-10 on ebay, I didn't find a Linux distro I really liked
that worked as well as solaris does on sparc hardware. You can get Solaris
for free, just go download it. I am running solaris 9 but am working on
getting ready to install solaris 10 soon. I would go with the solaris 10
install. Watch the memory though. Check if it starts throwing errors. When
I got my Ultra-10 it was a great deal, however the memory was throwing
errors (memory starting to go bad). Be forwarned SPARC memory is exspenive!!!!

At 10:53 AM 7/7/2007, Tony McDowell wrote:
>I just got back from yardsaling where I got a fabulous deal ($5.00) on a
>SPARC Ultra 5. Anyone got any opinions on which SPARC distros would be
