Great soapbox speech, Matt!  I agree with all of it.  I come to Colorado 
originally from Portland/Oregon, where FOSS-type conferences seem to be 
commonplace (during those days, I was still part of the great 
proprietary software conspiracy, not yet enlightened, so I didn't attend 
those great events -- <sigh> Opportunity lost!), and I think it'd be 
great to see that kind of thing here in Denver (center of the continent, 
compromises travel distances for nearly everyone in the US, great 
airplane parking at DIA, etc.).

Yes, face2face always beats video-conf, in my book (I do a lot of both).

I bet we can make this (Chase's visit to the Front Range) happen, and 
I'm willing to help in whatever way I can to make it so.  Count me in.
