[clue] networking question - wireless

For various reasons I ended up having to fiddle with my router this
evening.  Question, is there any practical reason not to use the 5GHZ band
instead of the 2.4??  I live in an apartment, there's a fair number of other
networks, I'm thinking it might be a good idea not to broadcast and use the
5GHZ, but since networking isn't my strong suit, I thought I'd ask for
advice?
