Jeff H (Boulder LUG) has (or had) a few books to give away on Amazon AWS basics which I picked up one in exchange for one of our LPIC-1 books from O'Reilly. If you are game for Ubuntu based systems (my current preference, LTS wise), I can assist with that via Linux ETC since there is a nice HowTo available that I found via Google. I was able to figure it out over 2-3 hours after some R&D (research and develop/destroy) since the HowTo left out how the AWS firewalls work in the documentation (could not access the system directly after it was made or other ports).

Let me know your thoughts and if you need some help there with this interesting "test DDoS" project.
