Take a look at sip station as a provider and AsteriskNOW or FreePBX. I know
said you want to stay away from asterisk but these both give you a nice
easy to use web gui. Which ever provider you pick for you sip service,
before you buy, ping their sip gateway at random times throughout the day.
You want to make sure your jitter (round trip time in ms) stays below
100ms. Any thing higher and your calls can sound like a bad cellphone call.
I use FreePBX in a small (5 person) office and it has been rock solid.
