Good question.  I run all my machines on testing or unstable so the release is a non-event for me. 
The freeze slows down my updates and now there will likely be some big updates as the freeze is 
lifted but otherwise I don't notice that a release has happened.

Not that I'd miss the party if I was able to attend.
