[clue] Kangaroo pocket computer

I was thinking it would let me use Linux when I travel. My work computer has Windows and I can't install Linux on it. Plug into the hotel room TV and use a small, portable keyboard and mouse.
I did consider whether it would be useful in another context. We recently did a job that has an HCl analyzer. Due to the strange design of the analyzer, the PLC can't talk directly to the analyzer because a Windows program is the interface to it. We bought a computer just for that program. The Kangaroo would have been a lot cheaper and maybe ideal for a hot, dirty environment. But no Ethernet port, so other concerns didn't matter.

I'm thinking about picking one up for the CD ripping robot I'm building. The extra horsepower vs the raspberry pi would be nice and would also keep me from needing to have it tethered to a "real" pc.

Huh. That is interesting, seems almost like it fits in a niche between a regular PC & a thin client.
I've been trying to think of what it would be especially good for, & I'm coming up empty - my initial thought was that pen-testers could plug it in somewhere on a client network since it would be so easy to hide, but it doesn't have an Ethernet port, & if you're going to use the wireless connection, you could (usually) do that from the parking lot with a laptop. I then thought that it might be useful as a car PC, but a tablet would probably work much better for that. Maybe as a highly-portable point-of-sale terminal??
