Hi everyone,<br>

I finally heard back from Novatel today and this device does not
support SMS functions, which is why there are no AT commands which will
work for SMS with the MC760 USB modem on Verizon. I've got a Sierra
Wireless USB modem with an AT&T SIM in it which works fine for SMS
so I'm going to use that.<br>

Probably the 3G internet connection (USB WWAN) works OK but that wasn't
what I was trying to do.<br>

I read the wikipedia page and the application I'm building could be
accurately described as a SMS Gateway. It will have an ethernet
connection, web interface/application, and internal applications to
handle sent & received messages. I can accomplish this with a USB
cell phone modem and a Linux box. (But not if the stupid* Novatel USB
modem has no AT commands for sending & receiving SMS messages.)<br>

We aren't going to trunk into any telcos with SS7.<br>

*I'll retract the "stupid" characterization in the event someone from
Novatel gets back to me with some helpful AT commands. Their web site
is spectacularly unhelpful with regards to this.<br>

The MC760 FAQ is inconclusive about whether or not text messaging is

My google searching has turned up nothing related to AT commands that
could be used to process SMS text messages with this device. Novatel's <br>
web site is also unhelpful. Does anyone out there in CLUE-land have any
ideas? All of the AT commands below return ERROR on the Novatel device.<br>
