List -<br><br>My 'head-banger' note (previous) has been downgraded from a Migraine to normal irritation. Centos 6.2 is running<br>fine once I toggled the BIOS between AHCI and IDE modes. To install the new OS, I had to use IDE mode (3 SATA HDDs) and then toggle back to AHCI mode (RAID striped) in production. Couple other quirks -<br>
<br>- I run a parallel server (currently LiveOS image) and notice that the 2 systems do not follow similar configurations <br> (eg Toggle betwen KDE vs GNOME Desktop Managers). Works fine on my production system ((using /etc/<br>
sysconfig/desktop parameters). Same file on 2nd box not yet working right.<br><br>- Sound card (on production server) - I had to toggle between KDE/GNOME to get sound working OK. Adapter on<br> backup system not up and running yet.<br>
<br>- Current task is to configure 'myphpadmin' so I can migrate a Drupal 6.2 database onto the new server. I feel your pain. My company is an Ubuntu / Debian shop, but one of<br>
our clients runs Centos, so I've been fighting with Centos quirks for<br>
some weeks and it's driving me mad. Unfortunately, for your particular<br>
problems I can only add sympathetic camraderie as I've yet to run nto<br>
those particular problems, and the perhaps unhelpful suggestion that<br>
you run from RPM-based distros as fast as you can. I have yet to have<br>
an experience with one that was not characterized as "a world of<br>
pain".<br>
