I wasn't following this conversation earlier. What exactly are you trying to do? Can you replace the firmware with Tomato or OpenWRT in order to get more features?

List -

I received several good responses to my 1st message (below). I was successful in moving the CL DSL
modem by establishing the PPPoE credentials on the LinksSys 1200E router.
Bummer. For a NW-person like myself who has built SoHo Web Services on several past lifetimes, this
sux. Not sure if I'll find the same issue with other comparable SoHo NW manufacturers (Belkin, D-Link, etc.). At
I'm looking for a SoHo NW person who can help me sort out a Public Address Space (server) + SoHo Wireless NW (192.168.x.x) space behind a CenturyLink DSL Modem (Zyxel PK5000z) with residential Internet service.

I've installed a Cisco Linksys (E1200) router and my 1st attempt to set the DSL modem in 'Transparent Bridging Mode' dropped the network for about 2 hours today.

Thanks
Tim (aka jugknot)
