<html><body><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000"><div>Hi All,<br></div><div><br></div><div> I'm writing to request any pointers the group might have to open sysadmin-type positions that members might be aware of. A quick overview of my skillset/experience could be summed up as follows:<br></div><div><br></div><div>I started in a telephone tech-support position in the mid-90s, all of my positions from then until about 2014 involved me supporting various flavors of Windows, from global/enterprise environments to 3-person "mom & pop" businesses (via a consulting stint);<br></div><div><br></div><div>I've also been working with Linux & commercial flavors of UNIX (mostly Solaris & AIX) off & on since the late '90's, the last three years or so I've worked exclusively as a Linux/Solaris SA. I would classify my skills as probably mid-range rather than senior, although I've touched a lot of different things.<br></div><div><br></div><div>I also have experience since 2009 with VMware's ESX/ESXi platforms, & have centered my home lab around a number of VMs (RHEL, CentOS & Kali) on that platform;<br></div><div><br></div><div>Although I've never worked as a developer, I've professionally "dabbled in" Perl, Javascript & web development, and I'm fairly comfortable with bash shell scripting & regular expressions. In order to realign my skillset with the new DevOps paradigm, I've recently worked my way through most of Codecademy's Beginning Python course - although I've transitioned away from that to 'Learn Python 3 the Hard Way' since the Codecademy course seemed to not cover much besides functions.<br></div><div><br></div><div>Early this summer I added the Security+ certification to my resume, in years past I've earned certs from Novell (ha!), Microsoft & VMware - currently working toward RHCSA, then RHCE certs. <em>(Kind of eyeing the OSCP after that if I'm feeling ambitious...)</em><br></div><div><br></div><div>Finally, I've "dipped my toe" into the AWS & Ansible waters <em>(via books that I've purchased)</em>, I'm getting somewhat comfortable with the former, but haven't spent much time yet with the latter.<br></div><div><br></div><div>Location?? Downtown would be ideal, I'm less-enamored with DTC/Greenwood Village/Englewood since I'm on the north end of the metro area, but I won't rule anything out.<br></div><div><br></div><div>If you know of anything that I might be a reasonable match for, please contact me off-list.<br></div><div><br></div><div>Thanks in advance, I appreciate any help/pointers that anyone might provide.<br></div><div><br></div><div>T.<br></div></div></body></html>
