Here's a clearer way to put it:  

3.  Please trim your replies to a list post from unecessary information, 
including the poster's signatures and portions not required to understand 
your reply.

#4 is a matter of preference, not something anyone has complained about in the 
8 years I've been reading and posting to CLUE lists.  Some people like to use 
commercial accounts to allow their spam filters to work.

So, I would prefer if we replace this with something that is complianed about:

4. CLUE members do not wish to receive unsolicited commercial offers, so 
please don't send them to any lists.
