Some past history to clarify why things are with VPSLink at this time.

The original "CLUE server" was a spare parts box that Jeff Cann "inherited" (for lack of a better word or phrase). I know Jed contributed some hardware as it failed and Linux ETC hosted it at once point. The problem here was the box was getting quite dated hardware wise and the cost of up keep was getting pretty bad. VPSLink was suggested after some discussions ~2-3 years ago for a "virtual private server" that could be up 24x7. VPSLink was owned by Spry until this past summer and sold off to a group in Boston. All of the VPS's were transferred over. So far, they have been pretty good on the public end. Linux ETC has had support related issues with them with one case of them going into the VPS as "root" without notification (gray area on the TOS as well) as well as some services shutting off due to "memory issues" (this never happened with Spry). Linux ETC is currently working on migrating all of our clients' to alternatives, CLUE being one of them.

So with the above history noted, I personally would like to avoid a "de-evolution" of things.

So hosting a "site" which seems to be described above is a question mark. Proxmox can be used to host "virtual servers" or private server containers. I personally would prefer the latter since a "site" (e.g., Drupal) is just one part of the current CLUE server. MailMan lists is currently the other part. A "Drupal site" might just have outgoing SMTP mail services only with does not work with a MailMan style set up unfortunately which is running off of Postfix currently processing incoming email as well.

Just some history and thoughts on the table.
